Corbin Named Men's Volleyball Coach!

2/4/2024 8:00:00 PM

Emmanuel University Athletic Director, Nate Moorman, announced the hiring of Mark Corbin as the 4th Head Men's Volleyball Coach. Corbin will join the men's volleyball staff immediately but take over full duties at the end of the 2024 season.

Coach Friddle will serve as the on-court Head Men's Volleyball Coach for the remainder of the season before fully engulfing his duties as Director of Volleyball. The promotion of Director of Volleyball will allow Coach Friddle to oversee all three volleyball programs (women's, men's, and beach) while his main on-court duties will shift to solo the Women's Volleyball Team.

James Friddle, Director of Volleyball, had the following to say "We are all excited to bring on Coach Corbin. I've worked with Mark before through SRVA High Performance and he is a great guy to work with on and off the court. He has a strong volleyball background. Coach Corbin will also be a great fit with his faith background as the program culture has grown to a brotherhood."

"Bringing on Coach Corbin will allow each program to have a dedicated Head Coach in and out of season. While I will remain involved with each volleyball program as Director adding Coach Corbin will only help elevate each team" Friddle continued.

Corbin attended Northland International University in Dunbar, Wisconsin, where he played on the men's volleyball team and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education and Bible. He has coached both men's and women's volleyball at the collegiate, high school and club level.

Corbin previously was at Bob Jones University, where he helped guide the team to the program's first-ever NCCAA DII National Championship. Corbin most recently served as Director of Volleyball at Truett McConnell University. Corbin's duties saw on-court duties for the men's, women's, and beach teams during his six-year stint. Corbin saw many all-conference athletes, players of the year, regional players, and many other achievements under his guidance.

Athletic Director, Nate Moorman, had the following to say, "We pride ourselves at Emmanuel University on finding great coaches, and Mark is just that. He has a proven track record of athlete and character development with the programs he has led. In addition, he's a great culture and mission fit for our department. We are very excited about having Mark lead our Men's Volleyball program!"

Corbin will join the Emmanuel Lion Pride with his wife Jen and three children.
