After two seasons at the helm of the Long Beach State women’s program, Hildebrand will be leaving the Beach.

LONG BEACH, Calif. – Tyler Hildebrand will be leaving the Beach to pursue other opportunities after two years as the head coach of the women's volleyball program at Long Beach State.

"Tyler has done a great job of elevating the women's volleyball program in his two years at The Beach, and we're certainly disappointed to see him move on. I am proud of the concerted effort we launched to retain him to continue the upward trajectory of our historically successful program," said Long Beach State Executive Director of Athletics Bobby Smitheran. "Our commitment to the women's volleyball program the last two years has positioned us to compete for championships and provide a tremendous student-athlete experience. Coach Hildebrand has built a foundation for future success and we wish him the best as he explores new opportunities."

"With five national championships, eight Final Four appearances, and 14 Big West Championships as well as a proven record of producing some of the finest players in the country, we know this is still one of the premier volleyball programs and universities in the nation," continued Smitheran.

Hildebrand posted a 40-19 overall record in his two seasons at the Beach, reaching the title match of the inaugural Big West Championship tournament this past fall, hosted within the Walter Pyramid at Long Beach State.

Smitheran has tabbed Natalie Reagan, the top assistant on Hildebrand's coaching staff, to lead the program through the 2024 season as the team's Interim Head Coach.

"Natalie is a proven winner throughout her volleyball career and has learned under some of the best coaches in the nation, and I am excited for her to take the reins of our women's volleyball program," said Smitheran. "Her on-court acumen and leadership style will position our current student-athletes for success while maintaining an eye to the future with her tireless recruiting work ethic, allowing the program to build upon the established positive momentum.

"Natalie's passion and energy for the student-athletes and Long Beach State volleyball is something I am also excited for our tremendous fans and volleyball community to experience during the 2024 season."
