Jon Lester Named Head Women's Golf Coach

TERRE HAUTE, Ind.-- Rose-Hulman athletics has announced Jon Lester as the head coach of the women's golf program, effective immediately.

Lester has served as the interim women's golf head coach since August of 2022. He has been the head coach of the men's golf program since 2015 and has had much success.

The men's team won their first conference championship since 1998 under Lester's leadership during the 2021 season. Lester was named the HCAC Men's Golf Coach of the Year. The team also made its first ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Men's Golf National Championships in 2021, placing 21st overall in the 37-team field. 

As the interim women's head coach, Lester led the team to a first-place finish in the 2023 HCAC Championship and 20th place finish in the NCAA Division III National Championships. This was the team's fourth straight HCAC title and third straight NCAA Division III Championship appearance. Lester was also named the HCAC Women's Golf Coach of the Year during the 2023 season.

Lester enters his 10th year as a member of the Rose-Hulman coaching staff. He earned a bachelor's degree in history and secondary education at Grove City College in 2009 and completed a master's degree form the US Sports Academy in sports management. He previously served stints on coaching staffs at Millikin University and Eastern University prior to coming to Rose-Hulman in 2014-15.
