Jacksonville, Florida-Edward Waters University head football coach Toriano Morgan has received a three-year extension, it was announced Wednesday by Associate Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Dr. Ivana Rich.
 
"Under Coach Morgan's steadfast leadership these past years, our football program has shown impressive development and promise," noted Dr. Rich. "As both his track record and the team's continued improvement demonstrate, we have full faith in Coach Morgan to guide and motivate our student-athletes to realize their potential. We aim to support him wholeheartedly in nurturing our talent as we strive together for championship victories and school pride that will resound through Jacksonville."
 
Named the 15^th head coach in program history in 2021, Morgan completed his third season at Edward Waters. Since taking the helm, Morgan has increased EWU's win output over those three seasons, recently leading the Tigers to a 6-4 overall record in 2023, the program's first winning record since 2004. EWU also went 5-3 against SIAC competition in their second full season as a member of the conference.
 
The Tigers offense set the conference ablaze, finishing fifth overall in scoring offense (29.3 PPG), third in total offense (406.3 ypg), and second in passing offense (286.9 ypg).

At the conclusion of the season, Edward Waters had eight players named to the All-SIAC team with five being named First Team (WR Johnny Jones, WR Nathan Rembert, DE Jaren Wilson, LB Widmyer Garçon, and OL Dylan Lampkin) and three capturing Second Team honors (QB Jyron Russell, OL Jamari Pierre, and DL James Gary).
