The School of Arts & Humanities at Missouri Valley College invites applications for Instructor of Communication Studies and Director of Debate to begin in August 2024. This position is a full-time, renewable, non-tenure track position.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
Teach nine hours of Communication Studies courses, such as Argumentation and Debate and Public Speaking, each fall and spring semester. Engage in all aspects of Debate activities such as planning, budgeting, evaluating, recruiting, coaching, operating, and attending tournaments.
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Communication Studies (or closely related discipline) required by August 1, 2024.
Two years prior experience in debate as a Coach.
Doctorate in Communication Studies (or closely related discipline) preferred (rank commensurate with qualifications).
Prior experience in collegiate debate as an Assistant or Director preferred.
Prior teaching experience in higher education preferred.
Possession of (or ability to obtain) a Class E and/or CDL Driver’s License preferred.

Missouri Valley College is seeking applications for an experienced and energetic individual to serve as Director of Student Employment. This individual will coordinate all student employment activities and will serve as a liaison to the local business community to assist in sourcing possible student interns.
The successful candidate will assist departments and students with the hiring processes; interact with Financial Aid and Payroll offices to monitor Work Study employment; supervise student and short-term, non-continuing employees; and perform related work as required. The Director will oversee student employment on campus, providing jobs for qualified students and providing a referral service for the community and on-campus employers.

The Program Director will devote 100 percent of time to this administrative position. This position is also responsible for the development, coordination, supervision, assessment and evaluation of all aspects of the MVC BSN Program. This individual must demonstrate leadership qualities, have a broad-based knowledge of the nursing profession, have excellent management skills and possess the necessary qualifications to perform the functions as identified in the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) standards and the Missouri State Board of Nursing (MSBN) minimum standards for programs of professional nursing. This individual must have knowledge of trends in nursing and nursing education, and must understand the principles of adult education. The Program Director, while having full autonomy over the BSN Program, reports directly to the Dean of the School of Nursing & Health Sciences.

Position Summary
Missouri Valley College, with one of the largest athletic departments in the country, has an opening for head tennis coach. Responsibilities include planning, development, and implementation of activities surrounding team practices and contests, budget management, equipment and supplies, fundraising and recruiting, retention, and more. The head coach is accountable for modeling professional demeanor and mentoring student-athletes with an emphasis on the NAIA Champions of Character model.
