VP for Athletics Tony Hoops Named to BOSCA Advisory Board

Hoops has been associated with BOSCA since 2018 and has presented on multiple topics

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern College Vice President for Athletics Tony Hoops has been named to the Business of Small College Athletics (BOSCA) to the organization's Advisory Board, BOSCA announced this morning.    
Hoops has been associated with BOSCA since the Fall of 2018 and has attended every national conference since. In each of the last three years, he has presented on a wide range of topics at different BOSCA events. In 2021, he presented creating a memorable student recognition event, followed by topics including creating elite student sections and creating a culture of success.

"It is an honor to join a distinguished group of innovative athletic industry leaders on the BOSCA board," said Hoops. "BOSCA has influenced my professional growth more than anything else within my career path as an AD. I look forward to giving back and enhancing this great organization to impact our great small college sports industry just like it has impacted mine."
 
Hoops is a veteran of BSOCA, attending and presenting at multiple BOSCA events in the past, including a regional presentation titled Preparing and Executing a Successful Budget. He also served on the steering committee for the first-ever BOSCA regional workshop that was held in Kansas City in February 2023.
 
"Tony is a rising star in collegiate athletic administration and I'm excited to have him joining our advisory board," said BOSCA Founder Jim Abbott. "Tony's experience, drive for professional growth, and determination to give back to the profession make him a great fit as BOSCA continues to evolve and endeavors to provide the best professional development opportunities for small college athletic administrators."
 
Hoops was named the new Vice President for Athletics at Northwestern in August 2023, after serving six years as Athletic Director at his alma mater Bethel College (Kan.). In his short time in Orange City, Hoops has seen conference championships in football, men's soccer, and volleyball – all in his first athletic season at Northwestern.
