Ithaca Athletics and Cayuga Health Systems Renew Partnership Agreement

11/28/2023 2:41:00 PM

Two of the largest organizations in the region will continue their impactful work together as Ithaca College announced today that it has renewed its athletic partnership agreement with Cayuga Health Systems (CHS) for an additional three years. Cayuga Health Systems currently serves as Official Healthcare Provider of Ithaca College Athletics.

Susan Bassett, Associate Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Campus Recreation at Ithaca College is excited to see the ways the partnership will continue to bolster IC's status as one of the top NCAA Division III athletic departments in the country.

As the Official Healthcare Partner of IC Athletics, Cayuga Health Systems will be recognized during all events across Ithaca College's 27 sports. In addition, CHS will serve as the presenting sponsor of the IC Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony, and the title sponsor of the IC Athletics Leadership Academy.

"This partnership allows us to expand our promotion of a productive, healthy lifestyle for student-athletes through education and increased resources," said Tyler Heisey, Associate Director of Athletics. "Community partnerships, like this one with CHS, provide our student-athletes with access to the premiere health care and rehabilitation resources in the region. It creates a culture that prioritizes student-athlete well-being. I am excited to see this relationship grow and the positive impact it will have on our community."

In addition to the athletic partnership agreement, CHS and IC will continue to collaborate on providing the general student population at Ithaca College with direct access to CHS resources. CHS has played a major role in supporting Ithaca College's reopening efforts following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, and CHS currently has formal relationships with the college's student health services, physical therapy, and physician assistant programs.
