Bryce Meche Named Salem Women’s Soccer Head Coach

SALEM, West Virginia - With the winter sports approaching their holiday break, the Salem Athletics Department still has some exciting news about the future of one of the Salem Tigers programs. Salem Women's Soccer will have some new leadership at the helm this spring in preparation for the fall 2024 campaign. The Tigers will be led by Bryce Meche, who spent last season as an assistant men's soccer coach at Davis & Elkins College.

Meche comes to Salem with a depth of experience in the college soccer world around the state of West Virginia. He came to the state originally as a student-athlete at Alderson Broaddus, and has since has stints as an assistant coach with women's soccer at both Glenville State and Fairmont State, as well as his most recent experience on the men's side with Davis & Elkins. Outside of the college game, Meche has also been heavily involved in youth and club soccer. He most recently worked with FC Alliance, one of largest youth soccer organizations in the state that also utilizes The Bridge Sports Complex.

Athletic Director Alex Joseph made the following comments about this new step for Salem Women's Soccer, " We are truly excited to bring on Coach Meche to lead our women's soccer program. The search committee and I were particularly impressed by his passion for program development and growing the soccer community in the state of West Virginia. We look forward to the new energy we feel he can bring to the program and the Salem campus community."

In regards to the new opportunity, Meche has this to say, "I am thrilled to embrace the role as Head Women's Soccer Coach for Salem University! I am eager to bring my passion, dedication, and expertise to contribute significantly to the program's success. I want to thank the exceptional members of the Salem search team for their diligence, professionalism and belief in my abilities. I am confident that, together with the talented athletes and support staff, we will foster a culture of excellence and achievement within the Women's Soccer Program at Salem University."

The Salem Athletic Department is excited about the new steps our soccer programs have made in recent days, and we look forward to everything 2024 has in store for the Salem Tigers Women's and Men's Soccer Programs.
