SoCon is the first conference to develop a league-wide agreement with HDI

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Southern Conference and HD Intelligence announced today an agreement for HDI to become the league’s official performance analytics partner for men’s and women’s basketball.

The SoCon is the first conference to develop a league-wide agreement with HDI for performance analytics.

“The Southern Conference is proud to be the first conference in the country to partner with HD Intelligence to support BOTH its men’s and women’s basketball programs. HD Intelligence will provide the SoCon’s teams detailed understanding of the analytics of their performance,” SoCon Commissioner Michael Cross said. “As the use of technology in college basketball continues to evolve, it is crucial that The Southern Conference basketball coaches and student-athletes have the best tools available to understand what contributes to on-court success in their programs. HD Intelligence will bring high-level analytics and insights to our staffs as they seek competitive edges in their pursuit of championships and access to the NCAA tournament.”

HDI is basketball’s premier analytics consulting company, working with more than 90 NCAA Division I programs across 22 different conferences. HDI’s performance analytics division works with its client schools to help them gain insights and advantages using NBA-level analytics packages. HDI’s performance analytics services include opponent scouting reports, self-scouting tools and analysis, detailed postgame breakdowns, lineup analysis, and assistance with the analysis of student-athletes that elect to enter the transfer portal.

The SoCon and HDI have previously partnered on the usage of HDI’s scheduling analytics to help league schools optimize their non-conference schedules for postseason selection and seeding purposes.

“HDI is thrilled to enter into this first-of-its-kind partnership with the Southern Conference,” HDI Co-Founder Colton Houston said. “Commissioner Cross and his associates at the league office have shown that they believe in the power of high-level performance analytics to be an impactful competitive tool, and we at HDI have a tremendous affinity for this league, its values, and its vision. This new agreement will deepen an already strong relationship between HDI and the SoCon and will give its men’s and women’s basketball programs an additional key resource to utilize in their pursuit of excellence.”
