St. Edward's Welcomes Austin Wilder as Head Cheer and STUNT Coach

The St. Edward's athletics department welcomes Austin Wilder to its staff as the new head cheerleading and STUNT coach. 
 
"We are excited to welcome Austin Wilder to the Hilltop to lead our new STUNT program and continue building our young cheer program," Associate Vice President for Athletics Debbie Taylor says. "The addition of Austin to our University community is energizing. He has a tremendous amount of experience and enthusiasm for STUNT and cheer, as well as the mission of St. Edward's University. 
 
"He communicates very well and gives us great confidence in his abilities to recruit great students. I am eager to watch both programs grow under his dedicated leadership."
 
Wilder brings over 13 years of coaching experience in cheer, tumbling, parkour, and gymnastics and a prolific resume as an athlete. He most recently served as a Kula Sports Performance coach, training athletes vying for a spot on the USA National teams. He's also the owner of Wilder Fitness and co-founder and co-owner of Sport of Cheer LLC. 
 
Wilder was named a 2014 Nfinity Legend as a Top 50 All-Star Tumbler in the world, is a two-time Collegiate Grand National Champion with Navarro College (2013, 2014), A DI Collegiate National Champion with Sam Houston State (2015), All-Star World Championships Finalist in 2013 & 2022, and silver medalist at the All-Star World Championships in 2019, He received his Bachelors in Business Administration and Entrepreneurship from Sam Houston State in 2019. 
 
St. Edward's revived its cheerleading program for the 2022-23 school year and will add STUNT for the 2024-25 school year. The team will compete in the Lone Star Conference.
