A staff member of the Athletic Department since August 2009, David Haase was promoted to Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Success. He is responsible for the overall management and provision of the Student-Athlete Services office for all UWG student-athletes. In his new role, Haase oversees the Sports Medicine staff, the Strength and Conditioning staff, the Academic Support Staff, and the Compliance staff while also serving in a senior leadership role alongside the Director of Athletics and Deputy Athletics Director.
Additionally, Haase is responsible for supporting Student-Athlete Wellness, including career and character development.
Haase currently serves on the NCAA's Division II Nominating Committee and completed a three-year term on the NCAA's Academic Requirements Committee in September of 2023.
Previously, Haase served the UWG Department of Athletics as the Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Development and Academic Support.
In the fall of 2021 and 2022, Haase was a site rep for the NCAA Division I Women's College Cup. In 2022, he was assigned to Athens, Georgia for the opening round and in 2021, Haase served as the NCAA Site Rep for the NCAA Women's College Cup in Tallahassee for the Round of 32 and Round of 16.
Haase previously worked in Athletic Academic Support as the CHAMPS Life Skills Coordinator and as a Senior Mentor for At-Risk Students at the University of Tennessee. He also served as the Coordinator of Athletics Officials for the City of Knoxville Parks and Recreation Department.
David, originally from Elmira, NY, received his Bachelor's in Sport Management with a minor in business from the University of Tennessee and also holds a Master's in Sports Administration, also from Tennessee
