Moelk Announces Resignation; Rees Promoted to Head Coach

Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw women's lacrosse head coach and director of athletics compliance  Anne Moelk has announced her plans to resign to become the manager of player wellness for the Major League Soccer's Minnesota United. Current assistant coach Cori Rees will take over as the head coach.

"I am grateful for Anne's dedication, pride and leadership of our women's lacrosse program and TeamDePauw," said Stevie Baker-Watson, DePauw associate vice president for student wellness and Theodore Katula director of athletics and recreational sports.

"She successfully elevated our women's lacrosse program to the national level and she has been an excellent mentor for Cori Rees.  I look forward to working with Cori as our next head women's lacrosse coach and have confidence in her ability to lead this program into its next chapter."

In four seasons with the Tigers, Moelk's teams posted a 33-16 overall record including school records of 11 wins in 2022 and 12 in 2023. In 2023, she directed DePauw to the program's first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship including a first-round win over Lake Forest. Each of her four seasons resulted in winning records and she was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2021.

Rees joined the DePauw staff as assistant women's lacrosse coach in July 2021 after a stint as girls lacrosse head coach at Center Grove High School. Rees coached both the varsity and junior varsity teams at Center Grove and is a Level 1 and 2 US Lacrosse certified coach. She also serves as the Midwest team coach for Indy United Lacrosse Club.

Rees has held a position as a career coach since October 2018 with Easterseals Crossroads in Indianapolis where she developed and implemented a pilot program proving work readiness skills to local special education high school students through group instruction and work-based experiences in a local hospital.

She served as a health education facilitator with the United States Peace Corps in Zambia from June 2015 to August 2017.

A September 2014 graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology, Rees was a Dean's Scholarship recipient and captained the women's lacrosse team as a senior. A four-year defender for the Wildcats, Rees played in all 67 games in her collegiate career and started 59. She was a four-time selection to the America East Academic Honor Roll and earned a spot on the 2011 America East All-Rookie Team.
