LAWSON RESIGNS AS OUACHITA MEN’S SOCCER COACH

ARKADELPHIA – Chris Lawson has resigned as the head men's soccer coach at Ouachita Baptist University following a four-season tenure as the head coach and seven seasons total at the university.

Lawson was named head coach of the men's team prior to the 2020-21 season after three seasons as an assistant coach for the women's program.

During his tenure with the men's program, Lawson coached a combined total of nine all-conference selections and more than 40 academic all-conference honorees.

"Coach Lawson has served this university well in both the women's and men's soccer programs," said Director of Athletics David Sharp. "He led our men's program with class and professionalism. I am extremely grateful for his hard work, and wish him nothing but the best going forward."

"I would like to thank athletic director, David Sharp, for his trust to lead the men's soccer program at Ouachita, and for his support throughout my time here," said Lawson. "I am sincerely grateful for my time at Ouachita and the support I have received from the athletics department and the Ouachita community as a whole. I am very proud of the effort and dedication from the players and the positive impact they have had on their program, community, and on me as a person, and I look forward to seeing their future successes."

The search for Ouachita's next head men's soccer coach is underway. Inquiries should be emailed to sharpd@obu.edu.
