Head Coach Evan Camperell Moves Over to Full-Time Faculty Position

Oklahoma Panhandle State University's Athletic Department announces the resignation of Head Women's Soccer Coach Evan Camperell, who served in the position for the 2022 & 2023 seasons. Coach Camperell will be transitioning into a new role as a full-time faculty member in the Health & Physical Education Department here at OPSU.

Athletic Director Victor Esparza expressed his gratitude for Coach Camperell's contributions, stating, "Coach Camperell has been an invaluable member of our athletic department, and we are grateful for the positive impact he has made on our women's soccer program. While we will miss him on the field, we look forward to seeing the same commitment and passion applied to his new role in the Health & Physical Education Department."

President of Oklahoma Panhandle State University, Dr. Julie Dinger, also shared her thoughts on Coach Camperell's transition, saying, "We commend Coach Camperell for his dedication to the student-athletes and the university community. His decision to take on a full-time professorship aligns with our commitment to academic excellence, and we are confident that he will continue to inspire and educate our students in his new capacity."

Coach Camperell expressed his thoughts on the decision, stating, "I have thoroughly enjoyed serving as the head women's soccer coach at OPSU. I would like to thank the administration for the opportunity, and I would absolutely serve in that capacity again if the need arises. It has been a pleasure to work alongside all of these fantastic student-athletes within the women's soccer program. I can't wait to see what the future has in store for them all! I am looking forward to transitioning into a full-time health and physical education faculty member at OPSU. Thank you to everyone who has positively supported the women's soccer program during the 2022-23 & 2023-24 academic years."

The search for a new Head Women's Soccer Coach at Oklahoma Panhandle State University will start immediately. The university is dedicated to finding a qualified and experienced individual who will propel the women's soccer program's growth & success.
