VALLEY CITY – The Valley City State University athletic department has partnered with North Dakota Coffee Roastery to launch Viking Brew, the official coffee of Viking Athletics.
 
Available in ground or whole bean options, Viking Brew is a medium roast blend of three distinct coffee beans. The blend was chosen as the official coffee of Viking Athletics after a group of VCSU alumni, employees and friends of the university participated in a coffee tasting event this summer at the ND Coffee Roastery in Grand Forks.
 
"When we started the Viking Brew project with the North Dakota Coffee Roastery, it was really important to us that we develop a great tasting coffee," said Steve Olson, VCSU's director of athletic development. "This high quality, smooth tasting coffee will hopefully have people coming back as a regular customer."
 
Viking Brew features a smooth flavor with subtle notes of caramel, nuts and citrus. The official coffee of Viking Athletics is available in 16-ounce bags which can be purchased in Valley City at the VCSU Bookstore, Handy Home and Hardware, the Eagles Nest and any VCSU home athletic event. Proceeds from the sale of Viking Brew benefit VCSU Athletics.
 
"Our packaging was designed to represent not only Viking Athletics, but also the community of Valley City that we call home," said Olson. "We want it to stand out on the shelves and hope our community and alumni will take pride in this North Dakota-brewed coffee that represents VCSU."
 
Viking Brew is also available for purchase online in 3-bag bundles. Online orders can only be shipped within the United States and will be sent via USPS priority mail.
