Defiance (NCAA DIII) is set to join the WHAC upon its return to the NAIA next year, with Football to compete in the MSFA, per The Crescent-News’ Aaron Gross. On the fit in the NAIA, Gross notes: “The move currently reflects a shift in focus for the College as a whole, with the small-college focus of the NAIA better serving the school as 80 percent of NAIA schools are private institutions like DC. The average student population in the NAIA is 1,400 students. DC currently has around 500 undergraduate students with a goal of 1,000 students in the near future. […] In addition, the travel times are greatly reduced for athletic programs at DC as the longest distance from Defiance to the two schools in Grand Rapids, Mich. - Aquinas and Cornerstone - are about 175 miles from DC. Seven of the current WHAC members are 120 miles or closer to DC, a mark that only Manchester and Bluffton qualify for from the HCAC. Current opponents Transylvania, Hanover and Rose-Hulman clock in at over 241 miles or further away from DC, around a four-hour trip one-way.” (link)

The NAIA inks a three-year deal through 2025-26 with Beyond Pulse as the association’s Trusted Service Provider of Wearable Sports Tech. A Beyond Pulse Smart Belt will track player and team data for evaluation by coaches.
