#10: This week the DII Management Council expressed its support for the Football AQ proposal for the 2025 NCAA Convention and opposed a proposal that would extend the window for a new student-athlete’s medical examination from the current six months to one year, citing the Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports’ opposition to the legislation. Other legislative changes included award and benefits deregulation that would be effective August 1, 2025; a public database for individuals involved in NCAA infractions; NIL rule changes; and a Board of Governors recommendation to restructure DEI committees and task force into one association-wide committee.
