#6: Trinity (CT) has released the findings from its Title IX audit a year after beginning the process. The report by Education & Sports Law Group identified four areas in need of improvement: the Robin L. Sheppard and Softball fields, gender equity in participation, compensation and equitable office space and support services. The softball field will be upgraded in phases to address limited seating and sound system this year, field quality next year with a new synthetic surface and permanent seating, press box and lighting in 2025. Sheppard Field has a press box on the way, while updated seating and a videoboard and an expansion of the Ferris Athletic Center being evaluated by Trinity. Athletics will also evaluate how to achieve a proportionate participation split, with roughly 130 male S-As or 9% more than females, and inequities in salaries and benefits for male and female sports. Athletics leaders and the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will provide monthly updates to the president and quarterly reports on the Bantams website and to the Board of Trustees.
