#8: New Mexico State AD Moccia explains there were discussions around participating in the next athletic contest after the recent shooting on New Mexico’s campus. Moccia notes the location for the next tip, in Las Vegas, was not the Aggies’ preferred one but the decision was that it was important for the MBB team to resume some normalcy. As of now, student-athlete Peake remains enrolled at the university, but Moccia and the school say that is the extent of their comments on that matter at this time. Moccia also says the team did conduct room checks and even had someone posted in the lobby, and he finds it difficult to believe MBB HC Heiar could have prevented the incident. Further, Moccia says discipline has already been handed down to players who also broke curfew on Saturday. (link)
