#9: Lander selects Ashland WBB Assoc. HC Gehlhausen as HC. Bearcats AD Reese: “She has been one of, if not the top assistants in Division II at Ashland. She is a great fit for us, and we feel like she will be able to continue the success the women's basketball program has had over the years.” (link)

#8: Johnson C. Smith AD/MBB HC Joyner Sr. will step down as AD, once a successor is named, after 18 years leading the Golden Bulls. Joyner will continue to lead JCSU on the court. Joyner: "The timing is right. It will be good for the new president to hire new Athletics department leadership as the University's transformation initiatives accelerate with the new president's vision for JCSU. [...] I treasure coaching, and I look forward to spending the next year or two focusing on the men's basketball team and positioning it for the post-Joyner years. We started bouncing back from the effects COVID-19 this year. I'm confident we will be better next season and hope to hit the milestone of 600 victories." (link)

#5: Saint Leo AD Reidy will retire this August after over 35 years with the university and 24 years leading the Lions. President Dadez: "Fran Reidy's contributions to our Athletics program and the university will be remembered for years to come. His commitment to our university's core values were demonstrated in the relationships he built with students, his work to help our sports teams achieve athletic and academic success, and in his service to the community. I am grateful for all of the sacrifices Fran has made to help our university grow, and I am proud of the legacy he will leave behind." (link)

#4: After the decision to eliminate seven sports, Upper Iowa AD Hartzell talks to The Gazette’s Ogden about the decision. Hartzell, who was responsible for bringing several of the sport programs during his tenure that were ultimately discontinued, felt a personal investment in those programs. Hartzell adding: “It’s a really big deal because we need students on this campus. We need students who are paying a share of their tuition costs so we can have revenue. […] We all have to figure out what the right size of program is and how to compete. […] We know we’re not alone. I don’t think this is going to go away.” (link)

#3: Central Missouri names Northern Arizona (DI) Senior Assoc. AD for Administration and Capital Projects Howdeshell as its next AD, starting June 19. #2: Lincoln (PA) brings back former AD Stinson III to lead the Lions. Stinson exited Oxford in 2020 to be the Deputy AD for Internal Operations/COO at Delaware (DI). Stinson: "We accomplished a tremendous amount in my first stint, but during my time away, I felt there was more we could accomplish and I wanted to see it through. I learned a lot during my time away and, with this evolved perspective, I know we can remain focused on our quest to become a premier NCAA Division II program and continue to provide the best experience in college athletics for our student-athletes, coaches, alumni and supporters. I am eager to be a Lion once again and Learn, Liberate and Lead us into more success in the years to come." (link)

#1: Wayne State U student paper, The South End, reveals contents of a FOIA request related to the departure of former AD Fournier in November. A letter from an employee, who reportedly actively feared for their job, to WSU Chief of Staff/VP of Marketing and Communications Wright states: “I’m telling you Rob is losing it. Rob is extremely forgetful. Rob leaves meetings and tells other lies about that meeting. If Rob doesn’t like someone he makes it hell for them and they leave. Rob is hurting (WSU) and the Athletic(s) department. [...] Rob runs the office like he is a dictator. Rob is also very good at playing the role.” (link)
