How could the NIL marketplace & transfer portal impact coaching talent? Here’s how Baylor AD Rhoades sees it: “I think we will have coaches, if things don't correct themselves, in the future that are going to get out. Those who have been in it long enough to save some money, I think some are going to get out because it's just not what anyone signed up for. In this moment we are speaking, I think it has exploded when it comes to NIL and the Transfer Portal. There are more than 1,300 in the portal for men's basketball. Right now, we literally have a pay-for-play system. We can dance around it, but that is what we have right now and I don't think anybody particularly cares for it.” More: “All of us want there to be a correction and I think all of us hope there is. When I say all of us, I'm think I'm even speaking on behalf of schools that have these tremendous donor bases and are primarily just focused on NIL and have these coffers of sums money when you think about NIL. I don't think anybody likes it or is enjoying it.” (link)

I think he’ll fit the Big Ten culture very well.” Former ESPN & ABC Sports President Bornstein: “He’s a high-powered executive and he has big vision. The horizon wasn’t as large there (Activision Blizzard) as it will be with the Big Ten. This makes a heck of a lot more sense.” (link)

Kansas MBB HC Self says the major upgrades to Allen Fieldhouse will be fully complete for the 2024-25 hoops season, with around half to get done this summer. Jayhawks AD Goff: “We made sure we are looking at it from ... a 2030, 2040 kind of lens, if you will. What should be the future of Allen Fieldhouse if you fast-forward 20, 25, 30 years down the road? I think that’s exciting to think about.” More from Self: “When you look at practice facilities, when you look at housing … (and) when you look at the arena, which is so special and we’re not going to take anything away from what it feels like to play there. When you say, ‘What do we need to be successful?’ We got it. “In the past, when you’d ask me, ‘What do we need to be successful?’ Well, we need to get this, this, this done. So, I feel as good about it as I ever have.” (link)
