#6: New Mexico State has suspended MBB student-athlete Peake indefinitely for his involvement in the shooting on New Mexico’s campus the night before a scheduled matchup between the two programs. Further, KOAT7 has obtained a report from the incident: “After the shooting, Peake is seen on video approaching a yellow Camaro, where he meets three of his teammates — Issa Muhammad, Marcelus Avery and Anthony Roy. Peake is seen putting items into the trunk right before the car drives off. Police arrive after the Camaro drove off. [...] The state police agent caught up with the (NMSU team) bus at the Fort Craig rest stop and spoke with another assistant coach, Lorenzo Jenkins. He had Peake’s tablet but said he had no idea where his phone was. The coach would not allow the detective to speak to any of the players and said that ‘they told (Deputy AD/COO) Cartwright they wanted an attorney.’ When the detective caught up with (MBB AC) Taylor at the Doubletree Hotel in Albuquerque, the coach had the gun wrapped in a towel, according to the report.” More. #5: Utah AD Harlan responded to a Twitter post about the Pac-12 Championship’s low viewership (5.967M) as compared to the Big 12 Championship (9.413M), particularly given that the former had the Pac-12’s biggest brand while the latter was sans Oklahoma and Texas, with a simple sentence. “We are not leaving…” (link)

#1: Denver unveils a new logo, described by Pioneers’ AD Berlo as a “contemporary take on our iconic DU monogram.” The “arch Denver” will remain on the front of uniforms, though it too will be updated. The school colors will be a “bit more vibrant” as well, per Berlo, who says the new unis will debut sometime in the 2023-24 season. Pictures included via the link. (link)
